Our History

Managing and developing property is a long standing tradition for Crossgates Management. With close to 70 years of experience in the real estate industry, we have come a long way from our humble beginnings. Our founder Arthur Schwotzer had a vision to create a cutting-edge real estate firm that successfully adapted and embraced the ever changing industry trends and regulations. In 1972, Gregg Schwotzer, Arthur’s son, came on board the family business, and over the course of many years, rose to President and CEO, until his passing in 2014. Now, with the third generation at the helm, Ryan and Owen Schwotzer continue that legacy. We reflect daily on our history of completed projects and milestones while always looking toward the future and what is on the horizon.

Ryan Schwotzer

President

Ryan is a graduate of Penn State University. He joined the Crossgates team in June of 2006.

He is responsible for business development, project management, and consulting in the Western and Central Pennsylvania offices.

Ryan is a member of the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks (NAIOP) and serves on the board of the Pittsburgh NAIOP Chapter.
